DUP MP for Upper Bann David Simpson has condemned those responsible for an attack on Brownlow Police Station in his constituency. Speaking after the attack Mr Simpson said,
"Over the last week we have seen an escalation of dissident republican violence across Northern Ireland. Tonight's attack on Brownlow Police Station is another attempt by these individuals to drag us all back to a violent past that everyone wants to leave behind.
I am determined that those responsible will not succeed in their aim. Upper Bann witnesses the brutal murder of Const Carroll only last year and it was only through good fortune that no-one was injured in tonight's attack.
I hope that anyone who witnessed this incident or who has information will take it to the police so that those responsible might be brought to justice."
