Christopher was born in Annadale and is married to Laura. In 2005, Christopher became the first DUP Councillor in the Laganbank DEA for sixteen years, outpolling Michael McGimpsey. He is the youngest Councillor ever elected to Belfast City Council.
A graduate of Queen’s University, Christopher works for the DUP at Party HQ and is a member of all three Loyal Orders. He is a past pupil of Nettlefield Primary School and Wellington College. He has a keen interest in educational issues and serves on the Board of Governors of a local grammar school and two primary schools. He is a past member of the Senate of Queen’s University and is an active member of the Presbyterian Church.
Christopher has worked to represent all the diverse neighbourhoods within Laganbank, lobbying to improve the quality of life in our more deprived areas such as Sandy Row and Donegall Pass and campaigning for planning and development which takes account of existing residents in areas including Stranmillis and Rosetta. Christopher takes a close interest in policing issues and serves as Chairman of the Belfast District Policing Partnership and as a member of the South Belfast DPP Sub-group. Outside of politics his interests include reading and cooking.
