Maurice was born in Ballygawley and now lives in Dungannon with his wife Jennifer and daughters Rachel and Victoria. He is proud of his strong links with South Tyrone, having resided in it all of his life. His parents were natives of the Clogher Valley.
He is one of Northern Ireland’s longest serving public representatives and is a former Minister for Social Development. He has been a member of the House of Lords since June 2006 and wants to strengthen links between Westminster and any Northern Ireland Assembly for the benefit of all the people of Fermanagh / South Tyrone and Northern Ireland.
As a member of Dungannon & South Tyrone District Policing Partnership, Maurice is a fervent voice on Law and Order issues.
A committed full-time politician he takes a particular interest in Planning, Housing, Health and Education matters. He is also a strong campaigner on behalf of the elderly. Maurice Morrow is one of Northern Ireland’s longest serving Councillors having been a member of Dungannon Borough Council for over thirty years.
He has served as Minister for Social Development. An MLA for Fermanagh / South Tyrone, he is Chairman of the DUP and Chief Whip of its Assembly Group.
